CARING FOR YOUR SOLID COPPER JEWELRY

Since copper is a reactive metal, it will tarnish and lose its luster. At UAI we do not coat our copper jewelry because no durable eco friendly product is available, and all coatings scratch and fail leaving a blotchy appearance on your item. Here is how to safely remove tarnish from your COPPER jewelry. Do not use this process on silver or aluminum.

Do not use brass, silver, or other abrasive cleaning products. Buy a can of Barkeeper's Friend cleanser. The base ingredient in this product is oxalic acid that will dissolve oxidation on contact. Do not use harsh abrasive cleansers because they will damage the finish.

5 Steps: Wet, Sprinkle, Spread, Rinse, Buff

1. Wet: At the sink, get all surfaces of the item wet.

2. Sprinkle: Lightly sprinkle Barkeeper's Friend powder over the item.

3. Spread: Gently spread the powder over the item. DO NOT SCRUB.

4. Rinse: Rinse completely under running water.

5. Gently buff with a soft natural fiber cloth.

All done in less than a minute, sparkling and beautiful.
